Hi,
I am Nana and I am 50 yrs old and suffer with EXTREME low back pain, knee pain 7/24. I was in a car accident many many years ago and then in 2000 I fell down 19 cement steps landing on my rear end. October 2010 I fell coming up some steps and landed on my right knee, that fall has caused me to become dependent on crutches and a walking cane. I was told that my MRI showed both knees were so bad that they wanted to do knee replacement on both knees but we had to put it off due my weight( am obese) and high risk of blood clots and infection. I am absolutely at my wits ends with this pain. The pain has me to the point I can't walk no more than a few feet, can't sleep, bend or hardly dress myself at times. Sitting makes it worse too but I keep pushing myself to go even when the pain is so bad I still try to go. Medications that were given to me do not work, heat no ice help, chiropractors can't touch me and we have no income, no insurance and I am desperate for some relief. I am usually a happy upbeat person, but since Thanksgiving day this back issue has gotten so much worse. I am getting depressed and feeling hopeless because it is limiting me to things I love to do. Sorry for venting but I just needed to get this off me this morning. Please if anyone has any advice please let me know. My husband is fighting disability so until they approve us we have no income what so ever. We live by faith and faith alone. Thanks for listening.

Do you take any medications? Is there a way that your doctor will work with you so you can have some relief? Have you had an MRI on your back? I know that you did on your knees, but what about the back? If so, what did it show? I figure that you have applied for disability as well and that both of you are trying to get Medicaid as well. I wish I could be of more help.

I am definately praying for you. I've been dealing with my back problems for 12 years (2 back surgeries and 6 more herniated discs after being rear-ended in a 4 car wreck.) I haven't been able to get my disability yet (still waiting for a court date). My husband also has a bad back and had to go from hospital nursing to home health ($12.00/hr cut in pay). We live from paycheck to paycheck and it is horrible-I don't know how you do it. I've been so depressed at times that I tried suicide once and have been hospitalized for depression 3 times (twice last year). Luckily they finally found meds that work for my depression, but they are SO expensive. We are lucky enough to have insurance thru my husband's work, but it's $800.00/mo. Thank God that your court date is coming so soon. That's only 24 days away, and then very soon after you'll get your back check. Just hang in a little while longer.

Did I understand that right?? Even after insurance you are paying $800.00 a month for your meds?

    Hi Lori,
yes in 23 days we will have an answer to the disability case. I am praying the judge will rule sooner and we can get this behind us. If for some reason he denies us I do not know what we will do. Our attorney said last week she feels very positive about the case and she feels like all is okay. I said to her, you know pretty much already if we will be approved or not and she said yes but you know how things can change so we are praying the judge will approve this and soon. I am down real b ad with my back again, I can hardly walk. I have my good days and bad days and lately its been more bad than good. I don't have internet nor house phone anymore so am at my sons today visiting our grandson and using their internet. Logan our little grandson has his papa in his room so I got a little time to do computer before Logan comes looking for me to snuggle with him. The weather has been so nice that we have been sitting on our porch just about everyday. Yesterday I started painting a little country bench that I had and was going to finish it today but wont be home until late tonight so will repaint it tomorrow. Last weekend I had to transplant several very badly root bound plants and as I was replanting the flowers I could not believe its late January and I am transplanting flowers. We have had no winter so come spring the gnats will be awful.
I stayed up late last night making pillowcases. When I am not cross stitching I am sitting at my sewing machine. I can't do much so I do what I can. Please keep us in your prayers for that call. Will post as often as I can get to the library. Take care, God bless, will ttyl
