I had gained a considerable amount of weight during menopause. I battled it for 3 1/2 years., with no luck. I was taking prescription Naproxen 500mg 3 times daily for lower back pain and neck pain along with Omeprasole twice daily. Eventually I got three stomache bleeds and one in my esophagus (from throwing up blood). They went in and cauterized the 'bleeds' and I spent 8 days in the hospital. During that time I lost 14 lbs.. I was rather thrilled with it but I lost 10-12 lbs. more than I wanted. I've shrunk due to degenerative disc disease and osteoarthritis - 2 1//4". I fluctuate between 106 and 110 lbs..
I have a nerve impingement just above my tailbone which is very bony indeed.
A hot bath is a great temporary pain reliever for me and I could spend much time in there, except for one problem! I cannot lay back because the tub hurts my tailbone.
My question here is, does any one know of a bathtub cushion, NOT inflatable,
That I could use? I'm thinking along the lines of a big, thick mouse-pad that I could dry easily. Yes, I have searched on line. I've checked out yoga mats as well but 1/4 inch doesn't seem like much padding.
Although my Drs. tell me I am way under weight, they also tell me it's the reason that my back pain is not much more severe. Yes, there was a huge difference in pain since I've lost the weight.
Can anybody help me?
