Select Comfort Sleep Number Bed

This is the most amazing bed I have ever owned. I have had this bed over 6 years and it's the best investment in my health that I've ever made. It is called a Sleep Number Bed and is made by Select Comfort and is made in the USA and a very well made product. You can actually set your comfort level on each side and because it is separate compartments, your side doesn't affect your partner's side. Anyone with back problems, joint aches or just wanting a great night's sleep would be wise to check this bed out. The website if you don't have a store close by is www.selectcomfort.com

There are a lot of options to choose on these beds and trust me I did a lot of research and even worked for the company for a year and a half selling these things before I bought. I don't work there now so I don't want you to think I get anything out of this endorsement, lol. The best bed in my opinion is the P5 bed. It's the middle range bed and has everything you really need.

I would definitely research this bed before buying it, my husband and I both have back problems, he has had 5 back surgery's. We both have had this bed for several years and before he had his surgery's. We both have tried all the numbers and still have a lot of back pain. This bed has not done us any good and I would not recommend it to any one!

Love it, would recommend to anyone that has back problems. I can set it to suit me and how I feel.

At tax time 2010, I decided to use my income tax refund for a SleepNumber Bed, so I looked on the internet & had pretty much decided to visit our local store & purchase one. Well, lo & behold, the flood waters came & that store was destroyed. So I waited for them to have a grand-re-opening after the flood damage was cleaned up—And now it's tax time 2011, even though this store has not reopened (the entire effected area is in law suites over flood insurance claims), but now I have twice as much money to spend & will be visting another local store & treat myself to best bed possible.

I have had a Select Comfort for about 10 years. It still does a fantastic job.
If I tried to sleep with it on 100, I wouldn't get much sleep. But set on 20 I sleep like a baby, which makes sense since it cradles me like a baby.
It is a purchase I have never regretted.

Thanks Mary for the numbers. That sounds like not too bad of a deal. I assume that you can get it in a King Size and that you can control each side with a different number. Also, can you tell me if you get really hot after a little while on the bed (like the memory foam) and is it noisy if you change your number during the night?

I purchased one several years ago. I have a 5000 Queen size (that includes a head and foot massager and elevating head and foot mechanisms). It is great for when I have swelling in my feet. In 2005 it cost me $1,750 for the foundation and $1,399 for the mattress, $190. for the insulate blanket and $100. for the mattress pad. Total package: $3,419.01. But I am imagining that it is much cheaper now that it is not such a new product. My sleep number is 100. As far as taking away back pain relating to major medical problems it is not a sure fire remedy. It does provide a good night's sleep for people with minor aches. Mary DeSanto

I am still looking for a price range on this product as I am going to have to replace my bed.

What is the price range?

I don't really have a review since I have never slept on one, but I do have a few questions…

1. What is the cost (round figure or range)?
2. Is this the one where it is air filled?
3. Does it make a lot of noise if you add or subtract during the night?
4. How does it compare to the memory foam?

I have the foam mattress set up that I bought 12 years ago. It is starting to give out now, but I really have gotten good sleep on it over the years.

Pros

It is hypo-allergenic
20 year warranty
60 day in home trial - yes they will take it back
easy to set up and move around if needed
There are no inner springs to ever sag or go bad
keeps it's support

Cons

it is a little pricey initially but compared with a good quality bed it is comparable.

But don't compare cheap with quality or your health
