This was interesting because I have never heard of yoga helping if the injury has already occurred. In rehab maybe, but not to solve the problem. My one thought for phelpb would be what do you do with those of us who have had multiple surgeries already. Is there any hope for us?
Thanks Good article

90% of all back pain is coming from your hips, hamstrings and the front of your thighs. The reason she cannot bend to the floor in her first pose is because her hips are tight.
Many back sufferers never get permanent relief from the conventional treatments. Yoga, physical therapy, injections, or surgeries. The reason why is simple. Yoga and physical therapy make 2 mistakes. First they hold the stretches too long. Never hold a stretch more than 2 seconds and repeat the stretch 10 times to warm the muscles tissue. Second they try to stretch a whole group of muscles at one time. Muscles hate to be multi-tasked. Stretch one at a time.
Injections has the same effect as unplugging your oil light when it comes on in your car, instead of checking the oil level. It feels good at first, but soon the engine will blow up if ignored. Surgeries just affect the structure of the body and just leads to more surgeries and more problems, Once you affect the balance of your structure the muscles adapt to try to stop the pain. Very seldom have I seen a patient only have one surgery and be fine forever. I use Active Isolated Stretching on my clients and have had major success with back pains including bulging discs, herniated discs, spinal stenosis, pinched nerves, etc. I teach people how to free their hips and take pressure off their knees, which will take pressure off their low back. I have done this hundreds of times when doctors and physical therapists have come up short.
Sorry to hear that bigred4rel. Knees can be a real problem when you are trying to stretch your back. I still think this video is for people that have had a minor back injury that can be cured with stretching and ice and some TLC.
this video will not help either me or my spouse due to the fact we both suffer from damaged knees. i can't even get down on my knees due to the pain.
I had xrays a couple of years when I tried working with a chiropractor. My rods and plates are right there and in place, so I don't really know what an MRI would tell me. I have no health insurance, so everything I do is out of pocket and it can get expensive in a hurry. I am in a holding pattern with my pain meds, and at least it is not getting worse. As a matter of fact, since I recently lost 30 pounds, I have felt better.
You sound like me (try anything) I have had physical therapy, exersing, pain mangement which I now have to take several medications to get me through the day. But have you had any xrays or MRI S?
Hey Purk,
Did you find that it worked? I have no chance of getting into these positions.
HOPE THIS WORKS— I WILL TRY ANYTHING
